Cris MJ Birthday: Age, Birth Date, and Bio Facts

The Rise of Cris MJ: Celebrating the Birthday of a Reggaeton Powerhouse

When September 16 rolls around, fans across Latin America and the global urban music scene unite to celebrate the birthday of one of reggaeton’s most influential modern hitmakers: Cris MJ.

Born Christopher Andrés Álvarez García in La Serena, Chile, the singer-songwriter has evolved from a local underground artist uploading tracks to YouTube into an international phenomenon. Looking at his journey provides a fascinating lens into how a birthday isn’t just a marker of age, but a milestone for historic chart-topping dominance.

From La Serena to Global Stardom

Cris MJ’s journey into music began humbly around 2019, dropping early tracks that slowly built his reputation within the Chilean urban scene. However, his career shifted into hyperdrive in 2022 with the release of “Una Noche en Medellín.”

The track became an unstoppable viral anthem, capturing the sultry, high-energy essence of modern reggaeton and Chilean mambo. It exploded across streaming platforms, eventually landing a high-profile remix featuring global heavyweights Karol G and Ryan Castro, and punching its way onto the Billboard charts.

Not content with a one-hit-wonder status, Cris MJ continued to cement his legacy. In 2024, he co-fueled another global earthquake by collaborating with fellow countryman FloyyMenor on the smash hit “Gata Only”, followed by his solo viral dominance with “Si No Es Contigo.” These milestones proved that his staying power goes far beyond a single track—he is a certified hit factory.
