How to Get Sora’s Crowns in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
If you want to show off Sora’s ultimate badge of honor in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, you’ll need to hunt down one of the game’s most iconic cosmetic features: the Crown.
Sora’s crown comes in three tiers—Bronze (Copper), Silver, and Gold—and acts as the definitive flex for completing the game’s hardest post-game challenges.
Understanding the Crown Tiers
The crown sits right on top of Sora’s head during gameplay and most cutscenes (though it disappears during world-specific transformations like Timeless River or Halloween Town).
To earn it, you must collect three special Proof items. Each individual Proof upgrades the crown’s tier:
- 1 Proof: Bronze / Copper Crown
- 2 Proofs: Silver Crown
- 3 Proofs: Gold Crown (The ultimate goal!)
Step 1: The Three Trials
To get the prestigious Gold Crown, you must conquer three massive endgame trials in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. You can complete them in any order you like:
1. Defeat All 13 Data Organization XIII Rematches
- Where: Found inside the Cavern of Remembrance (Garden of Assemblage) after beating the main story.
- The Challenge: You must face powered-up, hyper-aggressive versions of all 13 Organization members. Bosses like Data Xemnas, Data Roxas, and Data Xaldin will truly test your reflexes, blocking, and use of Reflect.
- The Reward: Proof of Nonexistence
2. Defeat the Lingering Will (Terra)
- Where: The Hall of the Cornerstone in Disney Castle after clearing all world visits and defeating the final boss.
- The Challenge: Widely considered one of the hardest bosses in video game history, the Lingering Will (Terra’s armored spirit) hits like a freight train, counters instantly, and can trap you in inescapable loops if you don’t master precise guard timings and strategy.
- The Reward: Proof of Connection
3. Conquer the Mushroom XIII
- Where: Scattered across various worlds.
- The Challenge: You must track down all 12 unique Mushroom XIII Heartless and satisfy their specific mini-game requirements (usually achieving a score threshold or a B-rank or higher), followed by locating the 13th mushroom in a final showdown at The World That Never Was.
- The Reward: Proof of Peace
Step 2: Equip Your Proofs
Once you have conquered all three of these legendary trials, make sure the respective Proof items remain in your inventory. The moment you hold all three proofs simultaneously, Sora’s crown will permanently transform into its shining, ultimate Gold form.
